Woah…I’d forgotten about this film completely! Sure took ‘em long enough. Hope this doesn’t turn out like the 4th Indy film-ugh–but more like “The Two Jakes” (Yes, I know it’s not a sequel).

Scarlett J. is a good choice, but how about a reunion of Depp and Keira Knightly? She’s pretty “translucent”, and they had SUCH chemistry in “Pirates”, bad breath & body odor notwithstanding.

I agree about the LSD trip–bad form! Stick to the rum, esp. in San Juan.

Yeah looks like a bit of a change however I am confident Johnny won’t fuck this up. Some people might not like the idea of changes but it happens with almost every book to film adaptation. We all know Johnny can pull off a bit of LSD experimentation Maybe they want to show a bit of a connection with Fear and Loathing. For all we know Hunter might have suggested it before he went on his way, none of us really know what Hunter and Johnny came up with regarding the film.

Not keeping it true to the book then and perhaps adding some artistic licence.

i’m very excited to see another hunter book translated in movie form. hopefully they’ll do it justice. i can’t think of anybody for chenault though…
